A Welcome Message from
the Principal of St. Monica

Greetings! Welcome to the St. Monica School website. It is my intention that our website give you pertinent information about the school, including its faith values, academic curriculum, co-curricular activities, and application process.

St. Monica School is located in the Richmond District of San Francisco and is home to a culturally diverse population of families who seek a spiritually-rich, academically-challenging, emotionally-nurturing and socially-supportive Catholic education for their children. Our students excel in our well-defined and challenging curriculum which stresses basic skills and competencies, as well as the arts, music and technology. St. Monica School students also participate in a variety of co-curricular activities such as our sports program, piano lessons, and an after school Chinese Language Program, in both Cantonese and Mandarin. The school also provides a low-cost Extended Care program from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. daily.

The foundation of our programs is the Gospel values of Jesus Christ. These values permeate every aspect of the school curriculum and culture. All students participate in religion classes and attend a wide variety of prayer services in addition to a monthly Mass prepared by the students themselves. Students also receive the Sacraments of First Communion and Reconciliation in the Second grade, and Confirmation in the Eighth grade. Families of all faiths are welcome at St. Monica School. We believe that all persons are children of God and are worthy of dignity and respect, and that the values of faith, love, worship and service are universal ones.

Please contact the school office for further information regarding any of our programs, or for information pertaining to the application process. Thank you for your interest in St. Monica School. We look forward to serving you further.

May God bless you and your family!

Sincerely,

Vincent M. Sweeters
Principal
