Each month, K through 3rd grades participate in a grade-wide station rotation. A theme is chosen and each classroom set up as one station. The students rotate between the 4 classrooms to take part in each station’s activity. Students have an opportunity to move about the classrooms and get to know their future teachers.
This month’s theme was “Day of the Dead.” Students made masks at the Kindergarten classroom station. The 1st grade classroom station was an art activity, including making paper marigolds. Students learned about the history of the “Day of the Dead” as well as created murals to be used in future years at the 2nd grade classroom station. Lastly, at the 3rd grade classroom station, students watched a short movie while doing related word searches.
