Support Services
Learning Support:
Mastery of academic concepts, including developing strong reading skills at a young age, is central to continued academic success. Recognizing that not all students learn in the same way or at the same pace, our Learning Support staff collaborates with classroom teachers to provide support for students in grades K through 8.
Our support staff includes one full-time Learning Specialist and one part-time learning support teacher. Support can include small group pull out, in classroom support, 1:1 support.
Students may also take advantage of teacher referred academic support through our Peer Tutoring program offered twice a week or through our lunch time Middle School Study Hall program.
Our Learning Specialist is also a resource for parents navigating testing through SFUSD for students with learning differences and establishing a Student Success Team (SST) as appropriate.
Counseling:
Saint Monica School’s Counselor is on campus two-three days a week. We partner with the Center for Family Child and Development in Berkeley Counseling who provide an intern to serve in our school. The intern serves individual students, works with small groups, and is available for whole-class based services.
